About Pilates Douceur

Useful information for your Pilates Douceur experience.

Movement. At your own pace.

A breath, a space of your own, the urge to move. Pilates Douceur brings together equipment that makes room for your practice, at home or in the studio.

Making room. For you.

We believe in habits built at your own pace. In the moments you set aside in a busy day. In the pleasure of returning to a familiar space, getting your equipment ready and focusing on what you are doing, here and now.

Pilates can take many forms: a mat session, a workout on a Pilates reformer, a guided practice in a studio. What matters to us is the place you choose to give it: a regular slot in your week, a chance to try something new or a fresh way of exploring movement.

Pilates Douceur offers equipment and practical guidance to help you prepare for that practice. Our collection brings together reformers, studio apparatus and accessories. Our aim is simple: to help you understand how they differ and put together a space that suits the way you use it.

The principles that guide us.

The right equipment

A product is chosen for what it lets you do, for its dimensions and for the place it takes in your everyday life. We favour clear, practical descriptions: configuration, adjustments, storage and accessories. Everything you need to compare models against your own needs, without wading through a pile of promises.

Your own pace

There is no single way to make room for Pilates. A few mat exercises and a session on a machine answer different needs. We embrace that variety and never impose a level, a pace or a result. Your practice belongs to you; the equipment is there to support it.

Informed choices

Before you order, taking the time to measure a room or check compatibility makes all the difference. Our guides and product pages are there to help you ask the right questions. If anything is still unclear, write to us so you can make your choice with a clearer picture.

Movement begins in the details.

The position of a bar, the feel of a handle, the space around a machine. Before each session come a few simple steps: setting up, adjusting and checking. They are as much a part of the practice as the movement itself.

Two spaces. The same urge to move.

At home

Creating your own space doesn’t have to mean giving over a whole room to your practice. A clear corner, a mat or the right reformer can be enough to set the scene for your Pilates sessions. For a foldable machine, consider its dimensions both open and folded, and the space to move around it.

Choose according to the space you actually have, how you like to store things and the exercises you want to explore. You can add accessories gradually, once you have checked what they are for and whether they are compatible.

In the studio

A dedicated space lets you plan the practice as a whole: machine layout, freedom of movement, complementary equipment and access to adjustments. Reformers and studio apparatus suit a variety of configurations, so compare them according to how they will be used.

Before putting together your selection, consider each station and the space needed around it. A chair, a box or another accessory earns its place when it suits the exercises you offer and the specifications of the equipment you use.

Your space. Your questions. Let’s talk.

Torn between two models, looking for an accessory or want to understand an adjustment before choosing? Share your question with us and, if it helps, the dimensions of your space. We will help you make sense of the information available on the equipment.

The first step can be as simple as that: asking a question, looking at your space differently and picturing where your next movement will happen.
